- About ME-
I love nature and physical activity, and I spend as much time outdoors as possible with my husband and family.
About Me
My professional philosophy
At times, life comes at us like strong winds and waves, and we are not always prepared to withstand the storms.
Winds of anxiety can be overwhelming and burdensome as we are tossed about and thrown off our intended path. Waves of depression can hit like a ton of bricks with heavy emotions submerging us into uncharted waters. Isolation, grief, sadness, disappointment and a slew of other unpleasant emotions can result. But with the aid of strong mental healthcare support, we can survive and grow.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I'm passionate about providing a safe space of nonjudgmental support and guidance to help clients through their difficult storms. I specialize in self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, work stress, family conflict, and strengthening couple relationships. I strive to empower clients and give them the tools and resources they need to make positive changes to the waves in their lives.
I graduated from Harding University with a B.A. in Psychology in 1997, and from Abilene Christian University with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2020.

I love being a mom and part of an amazing blended family of five children– two young adults and three teenagers! I enjoy working out and hiking with my husband, having coffee or grabbing a bite with friends, spending time with my family, and organizing service projects. My relationship with God and his never-ending grace is the foundation for my love for others and my desire to help them navigate through difficulties or find meaning and purpose in their lives.
Who I serve
My clients
I'm passionate about helping people of all walks of life recover their mental health and live successful lives of growth, healing, and hope. I serve people from all walks of life; pre-teens (ages 8+), teens, young adults, couples, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, parents, traditional and non-traditional families, people with disabilities and people of any religion.
My Focus
Teens and Pre-teens
It’s a confusing time! As with young adults, teenagers are also striving for meaning, purpose, and identity, which can cause enormous amounts of pressure and anxiety. Helping adolescents navigate through the waves of “fitting in,” grades, sports and activities, romantic connections, and family relationships helps them feel empowered, supported, valued, and more confident. I focus on building self-esteem and strengthening their confidence so they feel hopeful and self-assured. Working with teens, I set them up for success in choosing healthy coping strategies and regulating their emotions through outlets and resources that are beneficial and effective.
Young Adults
I enjoy working with and focusing on young adults, including college students and individuals in their 20s. I feel this age group is continuously searching, navigating through murky waters, and exploring their path involving careers, living arrangements, and relationships. Young adults are contemplating and trying to figure out their next steps, while asking, “What is my meaning? What is my purpose? What am I looking for? What is best for me right now? Who am I in this relationship?” Their winds of anxiety sometimes lead them to a fork in the road, feeling stuck, or fearing their unknown future. I help these clients feel encouraged and supported by providing an understanding of their thoughts and choices, while guiding them through the decision-making process. Helping them manage their emotions and difficulties during this confusing time in their lives assists in providing them with tools and resources as they continue to grow and develop.
Couples
I work with couples to identify negative patterns, heal from old wounds, embrace strengths and love languages, reconnect, and attune to one another. Using emotionally focused therapy, attachment theory, and Gottman methods, I support diverse couples and help guide them on their path of healing while becoming each other’s safe space.
I am a certified provider of Prepare/Enrich pre-marital counseling and assessments for newly engaged or newlywed couples.
blended families
Since I am a parent within a blended family, I understand the challenges, difficulties, and adjustments that occur in this process. I work with families of divorced or single parents, and provide a genuine understanding of these systems and their dynamics. Creating a safe space for each family member where they feel heard and accepted is essential in my work with blended families.
